A weekend of stars

This past weekend I was in London with my good friend Jovis, this was going to be great as we hadn't seen each other in ages. We thought about doing a street photographer meet up, but I had no idea if anyone would be interested, I’d never been so wrong.

Me and Jovis spent the morning shooting around the Southbank before heading into the city, yes you’ve guessed it Chinatown. On arriving in Chinatown we saw Josh and Craig starting their workshop and Don Stevie made a brief appearance, Jovis had then spotted Sean Tucker (@seantuck) but she wouldn’t go over and say hello, so me being me I called him over. We spent the next few hours chatting and shooting street, not only with Sean, but also with Simon and Harley.

It was so much fun, I was so lucky that Sean let me losse with his Ricoh GR, I’ve been wanting to shoot with this camera for ages. I was shooting people up close (and I mean up close) with the built in flash, nobody could believe how close I was getting and I’m sure they thought I was mad.

Here are a few of the photos I got:

We then went our separate ways for lunch , I must before going any further thank Sean for letting me use his camera.

Me and Jovis headed back into Chinatown to meet up for the walk, I was still sure that nobody would show, on arriving in Chinatown we was meet with 3 photographers and more joined us:

It was cool to see what cameras everyone was using and how different we all see things, Simon, Sean and Harley (I think) we're all shooting film, the rest of us had digital. One of the best things about meeting up was watching and learning how each of us shoot, this was a real eye opener for me. Each of us giving away our little secrets to shooting on the streets, so much fun.

We spent the rest of the day shooting around the centre of London, ending up back in Chinatown. The day was amazing, meeting up with so many talented photographers, chatting about our work, shooting and drinking.

I know Jovis really enjoyed her day, but I also know she was so tired after all the walking and she wasn’t the only one, but it was well worth while and I can’t wait until our next meet up.
