Lets Backtrack

So I put my X-T2 up for sale and I was ready to change up to the X-pro 2 camera and 23mm F2 lens.

After 3 days I was still enjoying the X-Pro 2 camera, 23mm lens and then Cambridge happened.

The 23mm is perfect for a city like London, the city has many tight streets and its busier than Cambridge, but how would I get on in Cambridge which is a very different city, yes Cambridge has tight streets and a small market however my photos are very different when compared to those I shoot in London.

Traveling to Cambridge I started thinking about my time with the pro 2 in London and how I had been using the camera and then it hit me, I hadn’t been using the viewfinder, I had been using the screen the whole time.

So the first thing I had to do was to start shooting with the viewfinder. The viewfinder is in the perfect spot on the camera, however, I found it to be too small and uncomfortable with my glasses, so this wasn't a great start and things just got worse as the day went on. Don't get me wrong I still very much enjoyed shooting with the pro 2 with the 23mm, however, I was missing my tilt Screen and 56 mm lens. I use the tilt screen a lot when I’m in Cambridge, isn't that strange how different we shoot in different cities, just the way I used the camera in Cambridge compared with areas of London. I guess in the perfect world I’d have both, but this isn't the perfect world. So for the time at least I'll be keeping My X-T2 and 56mm, I'll Just have to put up with the weight.

I wrote the above on Tuesday after my day in Cambridge and while I stand by it, a few things have changed. I have been fighting with myself, asking questions like:

Does the X-Pro 2 fit better in my hand?

Will I miss the tilt screen?

Is the 23mm F2 lens better for me than the 56mm F1.2?

Why the hell did Fujifilm make 2 great cameras?

Why isn’t there a tilt screen on the Pro 2?

Only Fujifilm can answer the last 2 questions, sorry Fujifilm.

As for the other questions, I keep going back, changing the answers. So with this in mind, I have decided to keep my X-T2 and 56mm F1.2 lens and instead of messing around with what camera and lens is better I will concentrate on what is important to me my street photography.

I've posted photos below from my trips to London and Cambridge.

Enjoy.
