Manchester

I’ve never really enjoyed street photography in Manchester. It’s a city that’s far too busy for my taste, and I’ve never felt comfortable on the streets. That all changed when I met up with my good friend James. James and I met during my workshops in London, and we developed a strong friendship. I am delighted that we have been able to reconnect.

Since James lives in the city, he knows all the best places to visit and the areas of Manchester that offer endless opportunities for street photography.

I have adopted a late-day strategy for my photography endeavour’s in Manchester, consistently arriving just as the sun begins its descent. The city’s evenings, particularly during inclement weather, possess an enchanting ambiance that stimulates creativity. James plays a significant role in this. His knowledge of the city is exactly what I needed. The night lights and reflections are abundant and perfect for street photography.

Beyond the bustling confines of Piccadilly Gardens, Manchester offers a wealth of photographic opportunities. While Piccadilly Gardens is undoubtedly a vibrant location, its excessive noise and crowds can be distracting, even triggering panic attacks. Once I venture away from this area, I experience a profound sense of relaxation, which enhances my focus and creativity. The stark contrast between different areas of a city is truly remarkable.

In comparison to Liverpool, Manchester presents a plethora of street photography opportunities. The city’s extensive tram network provides a unique and distinctive backdrop for my projects. Additionally, the numerous crossroads are sure to be vibrant and captivating during the summer months, illuminated by the radiant sunlight. Furthermore, Manchester’s lively nightlife, characterized by its diverse array of pubs, clubs, and restaurants, offers a multitude of chances to capture candid moments. I eagerly anticipate further exploring the city’s hidden gems as the warmer weather arrives.

In conclusion, I eagerly anticipate exploring the vibrant streets of Manchester. Through the photographs I capture this coming year, you will be able to accompany me on this journey.

I would like to highlight one aspect of this remarkable city that has eluded me: the absence of a coffeehouse that offers exceptional coffee. If you have any recommendations, I would be grateful for your assistance.
