I’ve only ever been shooting in Manchester once, so when Julian suggested a day of street photography in Manchester with Jay I jumped at the chance.
We arrived in Manchester early afternoon and within minutes I was focused, but I didn’t have my Sony instead I was using Julian’s Fujifilm X-Pro 3 combined with the 23mm F2 a lens and camera that I hadn’t used in years. Yet it felt very familiar in my hands and it didn’t take long for the camera to feel comfortable in my hands.
Being in a new environment that I wasn’t familiar with mixed with a camera that I wasn’t familiar with was a real challenge and yet I felt I was up to the challenge and I had a blast shooting once again with the Fujifilm X series. Now I’m not going to say there wasn’t times when I wished I had my 85mm focal length, that being said I made the 35mm work for me and I think I did more than ok with it.
There’s nothing like being completely out of ones comfort zone and having to adapt.
Theres was only 2 things that could’ve made day better and they would’ve been if it was raining and if our good friend Adrian had been there shooting with us, but theres always next time.
