While visiting Margate, I became fascinated with Dreamland, the building and the adventure park located behind the building. Unfortunately, the park was closed when I visited and I’m sure it would be an amazing place for photography when it’s in full swing, maybe on my next visit I’ll find out.
Dreamland itself sits on the seafront and was once a movie theatre, Ballroom and more the building is also the entrance into the theme park, in fact, Matt has been lucky enough this year as Sam Mendes has been there shooting his next film Empire of Light, they had dressed Dreamland back up to how it looked back in the 1980s and the photos that Matt had taken during filming are amazing and unique (Click Here)
There’s a car park behind the building which is next to a tower block, the car park gave me the perfect opportunity to take different-looking photos of the theme park, using the concrete structure to frame up my photos, this is a spot I’d like to spend more time exploring and shooting, but unfortunately, time wasn’t on my side this trip.
