Umbrellas, plastic bags and yes even paper bags people will try anything to stay dry when the rain comes unexpectedly and as always I’m there with my camera ready to document these wonderful moments. People being caught out in the rain always has me thinking, why don’t they watch the weather forecast of course today we all have the weather updates at our fingertips, yet so many of us get caught out when the rain comes.
I love seeing people running trying to beat the rain of course they never do and they always end up drenched, perfect for a street photographer to capture.
There’s also the variety of umbrellas that I love seeing and capturing these with water dripping off the ends is just so satisfying shooting them wide open and having the background blurred out with an array of colours is just wonderful, it always brings a smile to my face.
I have so much fun being out in the rain shooting, for me the colder and wetter the better, in my eyes the winter makes the cities come alive. This is going to make an interesting project and as we’re coming into the winter months I’m going to be getting lots of opportunities as people hit the streets shopping for Christmas.
I wanted to share a few of the photos I have taken with you today and I hope you enjoy them.
