This past Saturday I spent the day in our fine capital city, I was meeting up with a follower from instagram who was buying my Fujifilm X-E3, yes that’s right I’ve sold my beloved
X-E3. It’s time for me to go back to one camera and one lens and my choice is the Fujifilm X-T2 and (yeah you’ve guessed it) the Fujifilm 56mm F1.2. I find the 56mm lens easier to use with the T2 and that's why I kept that camera.
I haven’t had much luck shooting in London this year, however, I knew I was going to be in for a great day because within 5 minutes of arriving in London I found a Taco Bell, yes I know, but it’s the little things in life that make it worth living for.
So after my stop in Taco Bell I meet up with Jovis and boy did we hit off, chatting about all things photography, she was talking about how much she liked my street photography, I get so uncomfortable when people start telling me how much they like my work, still it’s a great feeling to know other photographers like my work. This young lady has a real passion for photography and even though she’s only been shooting for a year, she knows that it’s all she wants to do, her future has nothing but photography in it.
It was wonderful being around someone who has a real passion for this wonderful art, her positivity was contagious and at no point in our day did she say anything negative (not even when looking at my work lol) you know I’m not even sure contagious is a strong enough word for her positivity. I was so drawn into Jovis’s love and passion that all my real life problems just disappeared and again for me I went back to being 12 years old and I started to remember all the passion I had as a young man discovering photography for the first time, all of this powered me up for a great day of shooting, I was excited again, how do you thank someone for giving a gift like that.
We both ended up having a great day, the photos Jovis was taking were breathtaking and mine wasn't that bad either.
Later in the day we met up with another amazing street photography and good friend James (14kcomputerwizard), it’s always a pleasure being on the streets with James, he is another person that has a real passion for street photography and his work is outstanding.
All in all, I had a very productive day and I’m honoured to call Jovis a friend and I can’t wait until our next day shooting together.
