Travelling

For years I’ve been talking and writing about wanting to travel as I did in my 20’s and I still haven’t done anything about it and that’s a massive failure on my part, I was always spending money on crap that I didn’t need or want, now I’m not doing this we (my wife and I) have more money freed up and now we plan to start travelling and that in turn is going to open up my photography to a whole new world, writing this blog is getting me excited to start.

So over the past few weeks I’ve started making plans and putting things into action, my passport has been out of date for years and now I’ve done something about it and I’m waiting for my new one. I’ve booked 16 nights in New Delhi for November (as long as my passport arrives in time), India is a place that I’ve been wanting to visit since my teens and now I’m going armed with a camera and a fresh set of eyes and I can’t wait, I’m even thinking of changing it to 30 nights.

I know November will come round fast the trouble is I don’t think I can wait 6 months to start travelling so I’m looking for somewhere else and I’ve been told that Lisbon is fantastic for street photography, I was thinking of heading out at the end of May or the start of June, the trouble is my passport will be less than 3 months old so I might have to wait till India and that’s why I’m thinking of extending my stay from 16 nights to 30 nights.

So thanks to covid and being restricted to staying in my hometown this has given me time to see how much money I was spending just for a few days a week in Cambridge or London and now I know that I can put that money to better use.

I don’t know about you but I’m so happy and thankful for covid, the pandemic is opening so many doors and opportunities for me and I intend to grab on with both hands and never look back.
