Through the window project

Have been traveling to Cambridge and London over the past few weeks working on my 'through the window project'. The project has evolved into something very different from what I had first envisioned, I now seem to be focusing more on the reflections and colours.

When the sunlight hits the windows it can produce some amazing reflections and often leave me with a very different photo from the one I saw as I lifted the camera. I now find myself thinking of films like Blade Runner or the scene from Out of Sight where Clooney and Lopez meet in the restaurant and its snowing outside.

I might start by seeing a person reading, drinking etc and end up with ’something where someone's or something’s’ reflection changes the look and feel of the final photo. I also find myself using the lcd screen on the back of the camera more than the viewfinder, as it allows me to get low and close without being noticed, well sometimes lol

I am loving this project how different this is from the normal street photography that I started doing back in the 1980’s.

I find myself waiting for Autumn, the colours and condensation that the windows will be covered in. I feel like a child on Christmas eve……..

Enjoy
